The Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) was awarded a 2014 Silver Davey Award in Integrated Campaign for the Promotional/Branding efforts from the “MORE!” campaign. The winners of the Davey Awards were announced on Oct. 21.
This marks the first Davey Award win for the GMCVB. The award-winning campaign has enhanced the GMCVB’s overall advertising recognition through the use of a logo, social media, print and Web advertising. This was the second award won for the GMCVB in 2014, the first being a West Virginia Governor’s Conference on Tourism “Stars of the Industry” Tourism Award, which won for a separate campaign. The GMCVB has also received Addy, Communicator and Telly Awards in past years.
The campaign encouraged people to discover “MORE!” in Morgantown through promoting the area’s activities, events, landmarks and properties. The word “MORE!” is now used for the GMCVB’s logo and appears on all forms of print and online advertisement efforts.
According to its Web site, The Davey Awards is an international creative award focused exclusively on honoring outstanding creative work from the best small firms worldwide.
The Davey Awards is judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
