The Power of Values: Driving Excellence at BTA

""

The power of corporate values cannot be overstated. They influence every aspect of a company, from decision-making to shaping its long-term direction. At BlaineTurner Advertising (BTA), our values have been the driving force behind our success, defining our culture, inspiring our work, and shaping our identity as a leading agency.

Shaping Our Values: The Journey to Who We Are

Our values have been a core part of BTA for over seven years, yet they feel as though they’ve been a part of us throughout our nearly four decades in business. Perhaps it’s because we’ve had the privilege of seeing our founder, Ginna Royce, effortlessly embody these values every day. Her leadership and humanity have set a standard for all of us, and we’re better professionals and people for having worked alongside her.

But what sparked the development of BTA’s core values seven years ago? A combination of factors. As an agency that prides itself on being strategically different, we wanted to stand out from competitors, and we knew clearly defined values would be a key differentiator. They also gave us a structured set of internal and external expectations. For our team, these values cemented what leadership expects, and for our clients, they established what they can always count on from BTA.

Our values weren’t crafted on a whim; they were thoughtfully created by the insights of intelligent mentors, industry leaders, and the feedback from our valued clients. These perspectives helped us recognize who we’ve always been as an agency and formalize that into actionable principles.

The Core Values That Define BTA

At BTA, our core values aren’t just listed on a website—they are the foundation of everything we do, personally and professionally, every day.

BTA’s values are uncompromising standards that guide every decision and action. – Ginna Royce, Founder & Creative Director

Do What’s Right

Doing what’s right is a non-negotiable for us. During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, we lowered our rates for a client while continuing to deliver exceptional work. Doing what’s right isn’t just about business—it’s about supporting the people who believe in BTA, and holding ourselves to the highest possible standards—even when no one is watching.

Perform Beyond Expectations

We are committed to going above and beyond for our clients and one another. If a client asks for one idea, we provide two or three. Even if a proposal doesn’t require creative input, we still deliver a creative gallery. Exceeding expectations isn’t a bonus—it’s how we operate and approach every project and deliverable.

Encourage and Celebrate

Our people are our most valuable asset. We invest in their growth, celebrate their achievements, and support them through all life’s milestones. This culture of encouragement extends beyond our team to our clients. We ride into battle with them every day; their victories, whether it’s increasing web traffic or gaining market share, are milestones worthy of a surprise dinner, a chocolate fountain, or cake.

Be Accountable and Transparent

Accountability and transparency are cornerstones of our client relationships. If we quote a price, we honor it, regardless of changes in supply chains or vendors. If we make a mistake, we make it good. When we build data dashboards, clients have full access to the same insights we do. This openness has fostered trust and allowed us to build long-lasting partnerships.

Play to Win

From day one, BTA was founded on the principle of playing to win, a philosophy Ginna ingrained in us. Whether securing a new client or delivering impressive results, we approach every opportunity with an unwavering dedication to succeed and push ourselves to be better than we were yesterday.

Continuously Improve and Innovate

In the ever-changing world of marketing and advertising, staying ahead of the latest trends and technologies is imperative for success. We’re committed to doing just that to deliver what our clients need, often before they even ask for it. Internally, we prioritize education and training to ensure our team has the tools and knowledge for sustained growth and development.

Our transition in leadership, with Sarah Rogers stepping into the role of Owner, President, and CEO, exemplifies our commitment to continuous innovation. Sarah’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in driving BTA’s modernization. Under her guidance, we are not only providing clients with innovative solutions but fostering progress toward long-term success, ensuring our values remain central to everything we do.

To advance this vision, Stephen Rogers joined the team as Vice President. His experience building partnerships supports agency growth and expansion while remaining aligned with our core values.

BTA’s core values are everywhere, from the wall in the office kitchen to the back of our business cards to our website. It’s a constant reminder that the values are not aspirations—they are uncompromising standards that guide every decision and action, ensuring that each client experience reflects our true character.
