BlaineTurner Advertising (BTA): where I have been gifted with encouragement and freedom to learn, create, research and work hand-in-hand with BTA’s professional team members. Though my Strategic Communications internship serves the short term of Summer 2018, the knowledge I acquire each day through client-related tasks, content creation, social media management and research, as well as professional development skills will last a lifetime.
From the day I interviewed with the agency in the spring, I was determined to work with the BTA team. Upon speaking with upper management, I understood the passion each team member held for the agency, the expectation for quality of work, and how they carry out their company core values with each and every task. As an upcoming senior in the WVU Reed College of Media’s Strategic Communications (PR) program, I was excited to bring my classroom education to the fast-paced agency environment.
My daily tasks at BTA include monitoring and posting to the agency’s social media accounts, searching various tourism, healthcare and manufacturing marketing trends, and creating blog posts and other page content for both agency and client websites. My favorite experience thus far has been pitching the idea and partnering with team members (specifically in-house video producer) to create “Team Bio” videos–giving followers a more in-depth look at the BTA team!
I am grateful for the skilled team within the office; their guidance and advice toward work projects has enhanced my strategic communications and public relations skill set. I also treasure the daily morning greetings, weekly meetings, and celebrations that occur within the office. The genuine bond the team shares not only makes their work successful, but it also fosters a positive and uplifting office atmosphere each day.
I look forward to carrying the lessons I’ve learned throughout my time at BlaineTurner Advertising with me during my final undergraduate studies year, as well as throughout my professional life.
