As we kick off 2025, it’s the perfect time to reflect, recharge, and refocus. At BlaineTurner Advertising, our team embraces the new year with a commitment to professional excellence and personal growth. In this blog, we share the aspirations and resolutions that drive us forward—both in the office and beyond—as we continue to grow and thrive together. We’re ready to make this year our best yet.
This past year, I’ve learned so much about email marketing automation, digital retargeting ads, and website development. I’m eager to keep that momentum going in 2025. I want to dive deeper into these areas, exploring advanced strategies and staying ahead of the latest trends to help clients achieve their goals. Data has become one of my favorite tools, and I look forward to sharpening my reporting, research, and analytics skills.
I’m all about trying new things, and 2025 is no exception! Whether picking up a new book or hobby, discovering a unique workout class or restaurant, or exploring local natural scenes, I’m always ready to say “yes” and try new things. I also hope to give back to my community by volunteering, particularly with heart health causes, which hold a special place in my heart.
I’m excited to integrate AI into my workflow this year to streamline website development and code writing. Revisiting the fundamentals of Search Engine Optimization is also a priority for me as I align strategies with the latest shifts in Google’s algorithm. Another goal is to improve client reporting processes to save time and better tell stories with data.
Personally, I’m tackling home renovations after purchasing a house. I hope this will be a refreshing change of pace, but if it’s not, at least I have a pool to cry in. I’m also seeking opportunities to support my community by volunteering with a local nonprofit.
It might seem boring or mundane, but in 2025, as I have for the past 15 years, I plan on honing and sharpening my craft as a filmmaker. That entails staying up to date on the latest tech and gear but also my relationships with clients. At the end of the day, it is really all about relationships with people. These relationships help me share stories through film.
I’m making it a point to be more active this year. A big portion of the work I do requires me to sit in front of a computer monitor for hours every day, and studies have shown that sitting has many deleterious effects on your overall health. Fortunately, I have a 15-year-old son who wants to start weight training, so I will at least have a great partner beside me as I venture into a more active lifestyle in 2025.
As someone who’s been part of BlaineTurner for nearly 17 years, I’m thrilled to continue collaborating with our talented team and wonderful clients. The variety of print and digital projects always keeps this “Becky Brain” busy, and I’m thankful BTA allows me to express my creativity in so many ways. I’m also looking forward to getting more comfortable working on digital projects that come my way.
Outside of work, I’m continuing to wing this parenting thing. Likely, I will continue to embarrass my two high-school-aged boys at their basketball games with my spirited hand-drawn signs! “Time Flies when We’re Beating the Minutemen,” “Pick & ROLL TRIBE!” “We’re Too Hot for the Polar Bears,” and so on. I’d also like to squeeze in another visit with my daughter in Hawaii, meet up with my brother in New Orleans, and enjoy cozy nights on the couch with my husband to watch Season 5 of Stranger Things! I’m also determined to declutter my house and consistently bring reusable bags to stores—if I can do it at Aldi, I can do it everywhere else, right?
While pink may be my favorite color, I bleed BTA teal! I’m eager to continue enhancing the company’s culture while building on its 39-year legacy. Our team amazes me daily, and I truly enjoy learning from their talents. I want to continue providing ways for them to grow professionally and utilize new skills to solve our client’s business challenges. Growing through our people is the key to growing our business.
On a personal level, I want to join a board that aligns with my values and interests to meet new people and contribute meaningfully to the betterment of my community. Also, there isn’t a house project that I don’t enjoy tackling. Stephen might think I like torturing him with all my ideas and plans, but I know he secretly likes to be organized.
Our team is exceptionally talented, and our range of services uniquely positions us to help our existing partners reach their goals. I’m excited about the opportunities to build and grow our client base to onboard at least one new client in 2025. Another priority is exploring the potential of AI through monthly AMI webinars and uncovering new efficiencies to showcase the agency’s cutting-edge approach.
I plan to celebrate Sarah’s and my 10th wedding anniversary with something memorable this year—with hectic schedules in 2024, we couldn’t do much. I’m also on a mission to declutter BlaineTurner’s basement this spring. The plan is to get a massive dumpster to “permanently” store the old files and fixtures.
I continue discovering new AI tools to assist in my daily creative workflow. In 2024, I experimented with several image/video generators and enhancement tools and have come to appreciate each one’s unique qualities and interpretive output. I am most looking forward to Adobe’s video generation model for Firefly. Through advanced courses, I will deepen my understanding of responsive web design and modular systems like DIVI.
On the personal side, I have become associate pastor at our small, local church and have been slowly working toward getting our church a web presence. I also want to learn more about playing the bass guitar and independent and congregational Bible study and teaching. Organizing my garage is high on the to-do list, too.
I’m eager to implement thought leadership opportunities for clients and dive back into ghostwriting. Staying on top of AI advancements is another priority. I plan to dedicate time each week to reading newsletters, refining ChatGPT prompts, and collaborating with colleagues on innovative uses for AI.
I’m not one for resolutions and much prefer a “Top 10” list of the things I want to do or places to visit. While I don’t have all my travel plans made yet, I hope to plan a trip to the Virgin Islands and maybe even a trip to see Niagara Falls as an adult. I also want to check out the Elk River WV Rail Explorers. With my kids now reading independently, I’m excited to return to my reading list—no offense to The Gruffalo, Elephant and Piggie, or Pete the Cat. I just started reading Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt and love it.
As we kick off 2025, we’re energized by the possibilities ahead. From professional development to personal milestones, our goals reflect a commitment to growth, creativity, and making a positive impact. Here’s to a year of new opportunities, big wins, and the teamwork that makes it all possible!
